Biography
Ximeng Guan received his B.E. degree from the Department of Electronic Engineering,
Tsinghua University in 2005. He is now working towards his Ph.D. degree at the
Institute of Microelectronics ,
Tsinghua University, under the guidance of Prof. Zhiping Yu.
His research interests are in the modeling of nanoscale electronic devices, including
the exploration of novel channel materials, modeling of nanoscale contacts/interfaces, and
the evaluation of novel device concepts for future
computing and storage systems. He has authored or co-authored 16 journal and conference papers,
including 3 first-author IEDM papers, 1 EDL paper and 3 SISPAD papers, covering the topics
of quantum transport simulation, bandstructure calculation, channel strain modeling, III-V device
performance prediction, carbon-based resistive memory simulation and atomistic level interface study.
From Jan. 2008 to Aug. 2008, he was a visiting researcher at
Stanford Nanoelectronics Group,
during which time he worked under the guidance of Prof. H.-S. Philip Wong,
Prof. Zhiping Yu,
and Prof. Krishna Saraswat,
focusing on the modeling of novel interface technologies of nanoelectronic devices.
From Jul. 2006 to Sept. 2006, he worked as an intern student at
Intel China Research Center, focusing on parallel bandstructure calculation for low dimensional semiconductors.
Ximeng Guan is a student member of IEEE. He is one of the four winners of the
2009 IEEE Electron Device Society PhD Student Fellowship.
From 2006 to 2007, he served as the vice chair of
the IEEE Student Branch in Tsinghua, and co-organized the 3rd IEEE Region 10 Student Congress.
From 2007 to 2008 he served as the vice chair of the IEEE Electron Device Society's Tsinghua Chapter,
and co-organized IEDST 2007.
